Job Opportunities in Marine Sciences

A possible career path for those interested in Marine Sciences is to work in oceanography as a geoscientist.  Geoscientists study the physical features of the earth.  In 2010, geoscientists held roughly 33,800 jobs with 22 percent working in the architectural, engineering, and related services industry.  Luckily, the job outlook for geoscientists is good, with a expected 21 percent growth for the 2010-20 decade.  The reasons for the faster than average growth is due to many geoscientists are expected to be retiring and leaving the workforce.
