Liberal Arts & Religion

Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures and Linguistics programs at accredited colleges and universities focus on Greek and Latin literature. The dual degree postsecondary programs also focus on culture, philosophy and written and spoken arts during the Medieval period.

Cognitive Science studies the mind and human and animal intelligences. The field that started being studied in the 1950s examines theories and assumptions put forward by philosophers and scientists such as Plato, Aristotle and J. B. Watson.

Students who earn an education in communications and media studies will learn the basics of effective communication and the methods and production of mass media.  Communications and media studies programs prepare students for a wide variety of jobs working in television, newspaper production, magazine production, radio, Internet media and more.

Communication, Journalism and Related Programs, Other are dual degree postsecondary programs. The programs concentrate on writing, particularly non-fiction writing and reporting. However, both written and oral reporting techniques are covered in the programs.

Communications Technologies/Technicians and Support Services, Other college and university programs are designed with a combination of business, communications and technology courses.

Communications Technology/Technicians postsecondary programs concentrate on graphics design, visual and electronic communications. The programs teach you how to use advanced technology systems to design, develop, measure and monitor communications structures.

Computational Science college and university programs teach you how to use computers, models and mathematics to test theories around what would occur to humans should certain real life situations occur (e.g. fall off a ladder at work).

Cultural Studies/ Critical Theory and Analysis postsecondary programs examine gender and culturally based ethnic policies, histories and trends. Specific cultural groups Cultural Studies/ Critical Theory and Analysis programs may focus on include Native American, African American or Latin American cultures.
